Most P10 users assume leaks and pressure loss mean it's time for a new mask. Usually it isn't.

The AirFit P10 frame lasts years. What breaks down is the soft stuff — the nasal pillow cushion that creates the seal, the headgear elastic that holds everything in place, and the tubing that carries pressurized air from your machine. These three components degrade quietly, and they degrade fast.

Facial oils and cleaning products break down the silicone in the pillow cushion. The headgear elastic stretches with wear. The tubing develops micro-cracks you can't see but your machine definitely notices.

When any one of them goes, therapy suffers. You sleep lighter. You wake up groggy. You assume the machine isn't working — when the real problem is a $20 part.

What's in the bundle

AirFit P10 Nasal Pillow Cushion

The seal is what makes CPAP work. The P10 cushion uses ResMed's dual-wall design — a soft outer layer that cushions against your nostrils, and a firmer inner wall that maintains the seal as you shift positions. The "trampoline action" it creates flexes with movement instead of fighting it, which is why the P10 stays quieter than almost any other mask on the market.

Available in XS, S, M, and L. Color-coded by size so reordering is fast. Left/right marking on the cushion so you never install it backwards. Integrated woven-mesh vent rated at 21 dBA — about as loud as a whisper.

ResMed recommends replacing the pillow cushion every 2 to 4 weeks. Most users run them longer, but once the silicone loses elasticity, the seal degrades faster than it appears to. If you've noticed even subtle air leakage around your nose, the cushion is the first place to look.

ResMed 15mm SlimLine Tubing

The SlimLine tube is what came with your machine. It's 40% lighter and 20% narrower than standard 22mm tubing, which means less drag on your mask and less resistance when you roll over at night. The 15mm inner diameter is flexible and kink-resistant — no more waking up because you've accidentally pinched the hose.

Compatible with AirSense 10, AirSense 11, AirCurve 10, AirStart 10, and S9 series machines. Standard 22mm cuffs on both ends connect to any ResMed-compatible machine and mask.

Replace tubing every 3 months, or sooner if you see cracking, discoloration, or notice an odor that doesn't go away after cleaning. Worn tubing doesn't just smell bad — it can harbor bacteria and affect your pressure delivery.

AirFit P10 Adjustable Headgear with Clip

The headgear is what keeps the cushion where it needs to be. The P10 headgear uses a split-strap design that minimizes facial contact — less strap across your face means less pressure, fewer marks in the morning, and better visibility if you're reading or watching TV before bed.

The QuickFit elastic construction adjusts with a side clip for a custom fit without fiddling with velcro at 2am. Lightweight at 18g. Available in blue (standard fit) and pink (smaller fit, also compatible with AirFit P10 for Her).

Most people don't replace headgear often enough. Elastic has a lifespan. Once it starts stretching, the mask rides forward during the night and the seal fails. Replace every 6 months. Your therapy numbers will show the difference.


Why replace all three at once?

Replacing just one component at a time seems practical. It isn't.

If your cushion is worn, the headgear probably isn't far behind. A fresh cushion can't compensate for stretched headgear that won't hold proper tension. And old tubing that's developing micro-cracks will undermine a new cushion's seal regardless of fit.

When you replace all three at the same time, you're starting from a clean baseline. Your machine reads accurate pressure and you actually feel the difference.
